I have just finished reading the BEST book I have read in ages!! "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. It is an amazing, poignant, heartfelt, and brialliantly human account of life during the German Occupation of the Guernsey Islands during World War II. If I were any kind of writer I would attempt to convey how wonderful it is. Alas, the adjectives above will have to suffice. My best advice: read it!
A lovely quote from the author Ms. Shaffer follows: "....[my belief]...that love of art - be it poetry, storytelling, painting, sculpture, or music - enables people to transcend any barrier man has yet devised."
Have a wonderful day!
